What it takes to get Bridge Bagels ready
From testing our New York bagel recipe to working out the details behind the scenes: here’s what we’re doing to get Bridge Bagels ready for our first orders.

On the way to our first orders
We’ve spent months talking about Bridge Bagels. Now we’re finally in the kitchen, baking, testing and refining our New York bagel recipe as we get ready for our first orders.
There’s more to getting a bagel business ready than making a great bagel. We’re also working on operations, logistics, packaging and the overall customer experience to make sure everything works when we go on sale.
And we wouldn’t be here without our community. More than 400 bagel-lovers have joined the waitlist so far, taking the time to share their feedback, sit down for a bagel interview, refer us to friends, family and colleagues, and follow our journey from the very beginning. We’re so grateful for the enthusiasm our community has shown us and so excited to take the next steps together.
Getting the recipe right is only the beginning
We’ve been baking, testing, tweaking and tasting to find the recipe that feels right for Bridge Bagels. We’re testing different ingredients, baking times, textures and flavours, with our families and neighbours being the first to try the results. So far, there's been plenty of tasting, discussion and debate around the kitchen table.
We’re paying close attention to the ingredients we use, choosing quality British produce and testing different options to find what works best in our recipe.
We’re starting from scratch and we’re newcomers to the food industry, but our love for proper New York bagels and our desire to bring them to Cambridge keeps us testing and refining.
Now we’re looking forward to hearing what our founding community members think, as their valuable feedback as bagel connoisseurs will help us decide what to keep, what to change and which ingredients make it into the final Bridge Bagels recipe.
Making Bridge Bagels special with our community
Getting the experience right is only the first step. Before we go on sale, we’re also working on everything that happens around the bagels: how many we can make, how long each step takes, how we package them, and how we get them to you through local pickup and delivery. We want the whole process to run smoothly, from placing an order to receiving and enjoying your bagels, without making you wait longer than you should.
Our community has been part of Bridge Bagels from the start, supporting us, sharing the idea with friends and fellow bagel-lovers, and now the founding members will have a concrete role in helping us shape what comes next. Their feedback will help us understand what works, where we can improve, and how we can make both the bagels and the experience better.
Our customers are at the heart of what we are building. We want them to enjoy great bagels and have a positive experience. Getting those details right is very important to us because we want people to come back, bring their friends and family and make Bridge Bagels part of their own routines.
Our community will be a big part of the journey. Our goal is not just to sell bagels, but to create something that becomes part of everyday life in Cambridge, a place where people feel welcome, at home and love coming back, knowing they will always have a great experience.
